Michael Rippey Art
Welcome to rippeyart.com
Michael Rippey became an oil painter after retiring from a 27-year career in the golf industry, where he was responsible for development, management and consulting services to more than 300 golf clubs throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Since he retired in 2013, his painting style has evolved primarily through self-study, but he also has benefitted from workshops with accomplished artists like James Brandess, Dawn Stafford and Jerry Fresia. Representative of Michael's subjects and evolving painting style, are the two paintings shown to the right:
"Fresh Snow, Indiana Dunes" highlights the dramatic Lake Michigan dunes in the area where Michael and his wife, Durenda, spend summers. This painting, now in a private collection, was selected for the 2021 Hoosier Salon Exhibit, Indianapolis, and sold on opening night.
"Early Morning Flight," is representative of the low country scenes Michael paints in Fernandina Beach, Florida, where he and Durenda spend the winter months.
Michael is represented in Michigan by The Galleria, an innovative combination of cocktail lounge, artists' studios and gallery space, at 447 Washington St., in Holland, Michigan. Visit www.galleriaartandstudios.com, or better yet, visit the Galleria in person.
Michael also exhibits in a showcase near the entrance to the popular Butch's Restaurant in downtown Holland.
In Florida, Michael's paintings can be viewed (by appointment) in the Florida studio in Fernandina Beach. For information on any of paintings displayed on this website, please contact either:
