Downsizing for Us,
Opportunity for You! As many of you know, in mid-December we will be moving permanently to our home in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Our Florida house is quite a bit smaller than the home we are leaving, and we are faced with no choice but to reduce our art collection/inventory by about 100 pieces. We already have sold many paintings over the past few months, including many of my own paintings and works by other artists. But now, with our actual moving date fast approaching, we must greatly accelerate our "art downsizing" process. And that means: Unbelievable Pricing! Most of the Rippey paintings now displayed on this website are under $200, and none are more than $500. In general, our current website pricing is about 60% below studio pricing and about 80% below gallery pricing. Frames are included with almost all paintings. Included are several Rippey "experimental" works that never have been exhibited, such as "Planet Family," shown below. In addition, we are offering several paintings from our collection of works by other artists. These also are being offered far below original cost. For example, you will see a very good 1990 painting by nationally-prominent artist Burton Silberman, for which we paid $6,000. We are offering this piece for only $1,200. If possible, we would like you to pick up your painting(s) at our studio just outside Douglas, Michigan, any time up to December 15. If a painting must be shipped, you will pay in advance the estimated cost of packing and shipping via FedEx Ground. We use their excellent art services frequently, and we know the cost will range from $125-$250, depending on the size of the painting and your location. If you are a Michigan resident, there will be 6% sales tax on Rippey paintings, but not on those by other artists. To be as fair as possible, the process will be "first come, first served." The easiest way for you to pay is via PayPal, although we will accept a personal check.
